The hands behind the work

David — Founder of SoulCraft Studio

Born in the early ’70s and raised on a twelve-acre farm, David learned craft the old-world way — sitting on a stump beside his grandfather, a man born in 1902 who could make anything with his hands. Simple whittling turned into a lifelong passion for wood, earning David a blue ribbon at the Heart of Texas Fair as a teenager. Over the years, that passion expanded into metalwork, welding, and leathercraft, forming the three pillars of SoulCraft Studio.

Our story

We believe a well-made object should get better with use, not worse.

SoulCraft started on a garage workbench in South Austin and grew into a working studio for three disciplines under one roof.

“The box I ordered looks better in person than the photos, and it still smells like cedar six months later.”

“They took a rough sketch and a story about my grandfather's tools and turned it into a piece I'll hand down.”

“Took the wallet class knowing nothing about leather. Left with a wallet I actually use and a reason to come back.”
